All pupils receive specialist tuition in a full range of Sport and Music .
We have a designated PE coordinator on the junior staff and a team of trained sports specialists for the delivery of lessons and fixtures against other schools. We also engage the services of Chelsea FC Foundation coaches for timetabled curriculum lessons during the day and after school clubs. These specialists provide a varied programme of different sports, including invasion football, rugby, hockey, netball, athletics, gymnastics and cricket. Swimming lessons are held at Reeds School's indoor pool and led by specialist instructors.
The junior department has specialist Music teachers who deliver curriculum lessons across the year groups, organise concerts and run ensembles and choirs. The Yehudi Menuhin School outreach department provide group violin tuition as an integral part of our specially designed Music programme, alongside our own Head of Strings. All pupils have the opportunity to participate in free high quality, small group lessons for their first year on the scheme and can continue for a small subsidy in future junior years. Private tuition is also available in a wide variety of instruments, provided by our well-qualified and experienced peripatetic team.
Singing is an important part of school life. All pupils take part in weekly 'Big Sing' sessions which are led by a specialist Music teacher, providing the opportunity for part singing in a range of genres. In past years pupils have performed choral works in prestigious venues, such as The Messiah in The Royal Albert Hall.
