House System

At Cobham Free School we pride ourselves on our wonderful House System. Students are placed in their Houses from Reception and from Year 7 in tutor groups based on their houses. They continue to be part of that house in the Sixth Form. The groups allow pupils to mix with children and staff from different departments, feel part of a team and take on leadership roles.

The Houses are named after our local links and inspirational people:

Chelsea

We work closely with the coaches from  Chelsea Football Club Foundation to run an exciting and successful football programme.

Combe

The Combe Family have been well-established in Cobham for many generations and are an important part of the history of the community.

Menuhin

Named after Lord Menuhin who founded the Yehudi Menuhin School in Stoke D'Abernon and whose work has inspired musicians worldwide.

Peel

We were probably the first free school to identify and be sited in a police station.  Peel House is named after Sir Robert Peel who founded the Metropolitan Police Force in 1829 when he was Home Secretary.

On a daily basis house points are given to reward individual and group achievement in all aspects of school life, including:

All are linked to British Values.

There are also whole school house events that take place throughout the academic year including:

Each year students also get the opportunity to choose their house charity and they work as tutor groups to create fundraising events including:
