Junior Intent Statement

At Cobham Free School, we believe it is important for pupils to learn from and about different religions and faiths; this enables them to understand the world around them. The aim of Religious Education in our school is to help children acquire and develop knowledge and understanding of Christianity, other principal religions represented in Great Britain and non-religious worldviews. We do this through following the Surrey SACRE .R.E. plays a significant role, along with other curriculum areas (notably PSHE) in promoting social awareness and understanding. We encourage children to ask questions about the world, reflecting on their own beliefs, values and experiences. Above all, we want our children to develop a respect for other beliefs and religions in order to appreciate and celebrate the diverse world in which we live.
